MANAGER OF DAIRY FACTORY
MR R. A. HARVEY GOING TO AUSTRALIA
A special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Tauranga Cooperative Dairy Association Ltd., whs held recently to receive the resignation of the present manager, Mr R. A. Harvey, who has been appointed district manager to the Norco Co-op., Ltd., of Byron Bay, N.S.W., Australia. The ramifications of the Norco Co-op. Ltd. are many and varied, including the operation of 17 butter factories as well as cheese, casein and bacon factories, also a large foundry and engineering shop, a technicological laboratory,. a shipping service and a printing works. The company has ah annual turnover of £2,750,000. Mr Harvey's duties include the control of the whole of those undertakings, and he has been selected from a very large number of very highly-qualified technical and practical applicants from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. Shareholders of the Tauranga Cooperative Dairy Association should feel proud of the fact that one of their employees has been selected to fill this ihiportant position, which is the largest of its kind in the whole of Australia. Mr Harvey is to take up his new duties in approximately two months’ time and one of his greatest regrets is that he will not be present to meet and say farewell to the suppliers at the forthcoming annual meeting of his present company.
While it is realised, that his departure will be a loss to the Tauranga company, the enthusiasm displayed and progress achieved during his four years with the Company have been of such high merit, that it is felt that the foundations laid by him will live for many long years, and however sorry the Company may be to lose his services it cannot but rejoice that his efforts have been so suitably rewarded.
