ELIMINATION OF GLARE

USES OF SPECIAL GLASS

London, April 29

A , special glass which eliminates headlamp glare and window reflection is now being used to make better aircraft and prefabricated houses. When transparent models of gilders or aeroplane parts are put under pressure and viewed through this glass, engineers can tell at a glance where the pressure is greatest. Rings of colour indicate where the girder will break first and enable the engineer to strengthen that part. The glass is made with cellulose, which contains many millions of crystals to the'square inch. These cut out some of the light. x This glass was used by the R.A.F in the war to give-' three-dimension a’ pictures of photographs taken ovei Germany. Films which give a three dimensional picture when looked a through this have been made in America. The work is still going on but it is doubtful if stereoscopic films will lie in general use for some years.;
