TE PUNA NOTES
WOMEN'S DIVISION MEETING HELD (From Our Correspondent) The annual meeting of the Te Puna branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was held in the Memorial Hall on Tuesday, April 11. There was a large attendance.
The president's report and balance sheet showed a very satisfactory position. Membership had increased by seven and the finances were in good order. The branch had sent 90 parcels to the local servicemen overseas. In conjunction with the Sewing Bee, it had assisted in various patriotic activities of the district.
The president (Mrs I'Anson), secretary (Mrs King),- and treasurer (Mrs Armstrong) were all re-elected unopposed. Thanks were extended to Mr J. B. McKinney, who audited the accounts, and the Bay of Plenty Times for publishing reports of meetings. The annual points prize for competitions, was won by Mrs J. W. Smith and the points prize for blooms by Mrs J. Armstrong. The monthly competition resulted as follows: Best vase of flowers, Mrs Gibson 1, Mrs J. Armstrong 2; best bloom, Mrs I'Anson 1, Mrs Turner 2.
