BRAVERY AWARDS
TAURANGA MAN HONOURED BAR TO D.F.C. . In a list of awards appears the name of Squadron-Leader H. G. Holmes, who has been awarded the bar to the Distinguished Flying Cross. Since being awarded’ the D.F.C., Squadron-Leader Holmes has recently completed his second tour of operational duty, states the citation. He has continually shown the utmost determination when pressing home his attacks. He has taken part in a series of attacks on enemy submarines. Squadron-Leader Holmes is a son of Mrs G. Holmes, Tauranga.
