THE ATLANTIC WALL
• INSPECTION BY ROMMEL ARRIVAL IN FRANCE ANNOUNCED London, Dec. 19. Rommel is to-day reported to have arrived in France at the headquarters of Rundstedt, the' Geiman Commander-in-Chief Western Europe. The German news agency says that the main object of Rommel’s visit, apart from conferences, is to make a number of extensive inspection tours to examine the defensive strength of the Atlantic Wall. It is just over a week ago that Berlin announced that Rommel had been ordered by Hitler to examine the German coastal defences in Denmark. Since that time Rommel has been touring Denmark in a special train accompanied by a large staff.
