Section Play In Rinks Event

The Ponsonby rink, skipped by R. S. Higginbotham, had retained its unbeaten record at the end of the ninth round of section play in the Rotorua Bowling Club’s annual rinks tournament on Wednesday. With two rounds.still to be played to-mor-row, only four teams have already secured seven wins required for qualification for inter-section play, Coombes’ Hamilton team, winner of last year’s event, with but four wins has lost its opportunity of qualifying. Weather conditions in the morning were again cold, with the gieens slightly holding, and a strong wind making accurate drawing difficult. Following are the results to date: Section A.— Robertson (Onehunga) 7 wins; Crabb.
