SUBMARINE’S SUCCESS IN MEDITERRANEAN

London, Feb. 4

British submarines have made further sharp attacks against the enemy in the Mediterranean off Tunisia.

They have sunk eight small supply ■ships, also an anti-submarine vessel and a tug. Most of the ships were sunk by gunfire. One of our submarines also penetrated into the treacherous Messina Straits and put a torpedo into an I alian transport.

An enemy tanker was also hit by R.A.F. torpedo planes off the south coast of Italy, and U.S. Mi.chell bombers attacked a big cargo linei.
