"NO LONGER TALK OF DEFENCE"

MESSAGE FROM MR ROOSEVELT U.S. Forces In Northern Ireland Ceremony To Marie Year's Occupation London, Jan. 26. To-day a message from President Roosevelt was read to British and American troops in Northern Ireland. The President said "We no longer think of defence but of attack —determined, unrelenting, smashing attack. Many of you have chafed at inaction. You will get action." The President's message was read at a ceremony in Belfast commemorating the arrival of the first United States troops in Ireland a year ago.

The British Secretary of State for War, Sir James Grigg, who was present, spoke of the growing friendship between British and United States forces. He said that they must be in the fullest sense comrades in arms.
