SYNTHETIC RUBBER
U.S.A. PRODUCTION PROBLEM APPROACHES END Washington, Dec. 2. The Secretary of Commerce, Mr Jesse H. Jones, told the House of Representatives Banking Committee that synthetic rubber production would reach approximately 1,000,000 tons annually at the end of 1943. The chairman of the committee, Mr Steagall, said the Government now had in stock 700,000 tons of rubber, and he was of opinion that the rubber problem would be eased by the middle of 1943.
