ASSAULTS ON MALTA Enemy Loses Heavily 97 Planes in Five Days London, Oct. li>. Tile Axis air assault on Malta Continues on (lie saint- scale and Malta's score is now 97 enemy aircraft shot down in five days. Yesterday the island bagged 15 more enemy planes and lost four fighters. Tin- pilots of three of these were saved. The enemy has little to show for his losses. Civilian damage was slight and military damage is stated to be nil. Last night all at lacking enemy pianos won- forced to jettison their I bombs in the sea.
