Chaining - of Prisoners
Archbishop's Statement
London. Oct. 15. Dr. William Temple. Archbishop of Canterbury, said in the Upper House that a statement was being presented to the Government concerning the chaining of war prisoners. Its contents are not being disclosed. Mr Churchill said that a note had been sent to Berlin in which we had offered to remove chains from German prisoners immediately the German authorities took similar action with our men.
