LATEST WAR NEWS

The following is a summary of the latest war news: RUSSIA There is still no further change in the situation at Stalingrad, The fighting has been broken up into a number of fierce minor attacks on the outlying industrial districts. In three days only seven R.A.P. planes have been lost against (50 Axis planes shot down for certain and a large number badly damaged. RAID ON KIEL The attack on Kiel was the heaviest of the war. The raid was so concentrated that the defences were swamped and all our planes returned safely. NORTH SEA Five enemy E-boats were attacked by our light naval forces in the North Sea. Ghent, iu Belgium, has been lined 500,000 francs ( £3,000 pre-war. value) and 50 hostages have been arrested all because one German soldier was injured in a bomb explosion. . U.S.A. Mr Wendell Willkie has arrived back in the United States. He is flying to Washington to see the President.
