USE OF PATRIOTIC FUNDS
gi r , i have noticed in your paper several letters referring to a patriotic body giving a friend £9O for what he should do gratis. Now, Sir. why not play in our own backyard? Why should the Patriotic Shop Committee he charged £ 210 s a week for the little shop in Wharf Street? I think, Sir. this is a bit like a farmer close to me who charged two soldiers who were on manoeuvres, twopence each for two candles.—l am, etc., J. H. EVANS.
