TE PUKE SALE HIGH PRICES FOR PIGS The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale on Tuesday last. Pigs There was an exceptionally heavy yarding of all classes of pigs. Competition for both local and outside buyers for buttermilk and large stores was particularly keen and values realised' were well in excess of expectations. Store and weaner pigs elicited brisk inquiry and a total clearance resulted. The following is a range of prices:

Medium baconers, £3 18s to £4 6s; large buttermilk pigs, £ 3 12s to £3 17s; medium buttermilk pigs, £3 6s to £3 lis; smaller buttermilk pigs, £2 16s to £3 4s; large stores, £2 8s to £2 14s; smaller stores, £2 2s to £2 7s; slips, £1 12s to £2; good weaners, £ 1 5s to £1 10s; others, £ 1 to £ 1 4s. Cattle There was a good yarding of cattle with little beef offering. Competition was steady throughout for all classes and values remained firm at late rates. Values were: — Fat Jersey cows, £6 to £6 15s; lighter Jersey cows, £ 5 6s to £ 5 16s; heavy boners, £4 15s to £ 5 ss; medium boners, £3 15s to £ 4 10s; lighter boners, £2 10s to £3 10s; 2-yr. Jersey bulls, £lO to £ll 15s; others, £ 5 to £6 12s 6d; medium potter bulls, £6 12s 6d to £7 10s; lighter potter bulls, £3 15s to £6; yearling Jersey heifers, £ 4 3s to . £ 4 19s; smaller Jersey heifers, £3 10s to £4; yearling Shorthorn cross heifers, £4 to £4 ss; small 2-yr. mixed coloured steers to £ 4 15s. Sheep 5-yr. ewes with lambs at foot (all counted), £ 1 Is 4d; fat hoggets, £1 7s 6d to £ 1 9s Id; fat ewes, £ 1 5s 6d; B.F. store hoggets, 17s 6d to £1 Is.
