Strong Wind A strong southerly wind was experienced throughout the night. There was a keen nip in the air this morning. There were two points of rain in the 24 hours ended at 9 o'clock this morning. Patriotic Shop. The Gate Pa Patriotic Committee was in charge of the Patriotic Shop on Friday and took over £ 27. Competitions decided during the week and on Friday are as follow:—Ham, Mrs W. Merrick; fruit cake, Enid, Elizabeth Street; frock, Miss Doulton; ties, Mrs S. Williams, Te Puna; dinner, Mrs Johnston, Bth Avenue; cups and saucers, "Try Again"; groceries, Mrs J. H. Hunt, Pye's Pa.
