Women’s Auxiliary. A canteen section of the Women’s War Service (Auxiliary has been formed by the Bethlehem ladies under Mrs F. A. Dale and on Saturday next will give a demonstration of outdoor cooking in Maori fashion at the Maori hostel on the Strand at 1.30 p.m._ Royal Navy The Royal New Zealand Navy requires the services of men experienced in boat work, wire splicing, and riggers’ work for harbour defence duties. The age limit is 31 to 55, and further particulars may be obtained from the Director of Naval Recruiting, Devonport, Auckland. Prisoners of AVar Some next-of-kin seem to be confused by the reference in the last bulletin issued by the Prisoners of War Office by mention of 247 tons of chocolate having been sent to British prisoners by the Prisoners of War Department. This refers to the London organisation and not that in New Zealand, states a Wellington message. To Assist Patriotic Funds For the purpose of assisting the patriotic funds the Tauranga Rugby Union has arranged for a special match to be played on the Domain on Saturday, July 27. The clash will be between teams selected from the Air Force, Judea and Rangataua sides, and a combined Army team, and a bright exhibition of Rugby is assured. Lighting Restrictions In future the Lighting Restrictions Emergency Regulations relating to vehicles will be strictly enforced and the police and traffic authorities have been asked to take action against all offenders, states a Wellington message. A statement to this effect was made by the Minister of National Service, Mr Semple. He urged all pedestrians to wear or carry something white when on the streets at night.
