The Minister of Health (the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer) arrived in Tauranga yesterday afternoon from Coromandel. He conferred with members of the Tauranga Hospital Board, and left this morning for Rotorua and Whakatane.

Sergeant-Major H. H. Lowe lias been appointed Regimental Ser-geant-Major and Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant of the Tauranga Battalion of the Home Guard, and took up his new position yesterday.

Mrs A. E. Bradinore of Ist Avenue, has received cable advice from Canada that her husband, SergeantObserver Bradmore, has been commissioned as a pilot officer. Mr A. C. R. Isherwood, of Tauranga, has received advice that his son, Mr Rentoul Isherwood, has been successful in gaining his commission as a Sub-Lieutenant in the Fleet Air Arm. Sub-Lieutenant Isherwood left New Zealand last April and has done most of his training in United States naval air bases.
