OBITUARY

MRS BETTY PATERSON It was with great sadness that many friends learned yesterday of the death of Mrs Betty Paterson, wife of Mr W. A. Paterson, of Brown Street. Some weeks before Christmas, Mrs Paterson was taken seriously ill and remained in the private hospital until just recently. Her convalescence appeared to be slow, but she had made one or two trips into town during the past week, and her collapse on Monday night was sudden. Mrs Paterson was the only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Clark, of Dunedin, formerly of Edinburgh. She was born in Edinburgh, coming to New Zealand with her parents when ten years of age. The family in Dunedin, and it was here Mrs Paterson was married some fifteen years ago, coming as a bride to Tauranga, where her husband had his practice. During the years she lived in Tauranga, Mrs Paterson made many friends, and became a member of the various sports and social clubs. She had a gentle disposition, looked for the best in everyone, and endeavoured to do as much charitable work as ber health permitted her. Two children were born to Miami Mrs Paterson. Nancy and I b ather, and for the little girls and their father there will he very sincere sympathy. Mr and Mrs Clark will arrive here from Dunedin to-morrow, and the funeral will take place in the afternoon.
