"The Corn is Green"
j It has just been announced that I Warners intend to star Bette Davis and Ida Lu/pino (both dramatic actresses) in the same film—a screen version of Emlyn Williams's stage 1 thriller, "The Corn is Green."
Bette is to take the Ethel Barrymore school teacher role, and Ida that of the girl who leads the school teacher's miner prolege astray.
An attractive bag in white kid, •/ery supple, with tiny gold pins stuck round its square frame, is carried by Eleanor Powell, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer star, with her allwhite wool coat. Hat and shoes are in brilliant red.
