GERMAN SAILORS AS FIFTH COLUMNISTS
Washington, July 3. The Justice Department announces that immigration inspectors have been sent to San Francisco to check reports that members of the crew of the German liner, Columbus, scuttled early in the war, are engaging in Fifth Column activities while on shore leave from Angel Island, where they are interned.
