JAUK.WGA V. KATIKATI (School Correspondent) A happy spirit was abroad on Wednesday, when the Tauranga District •High School basketball and football teams visited Katikati. Immediately after their arrival the teams proceeded to the school, where the matches were to be played. In the senior basketball the superior play of Katiakti team had Tauranga on the defensive, the game ending in favour of Katikati. Tauranga B; in their game with Katikati were victorious after a strenuous game. Although the final football score was in favour of Tauranga, the game provided some very tense moments. For Tauranga, tries were obtained by S. Wells, H. Rewiti, G. Midwinter, two of which were converted by S. Wells. The remaining points were gained by two penalty goals kicked by J. Denby and S. Wells. The results are as follows, Tauranga being mentioned first: Basketball.—A. team 11 to 24; B. Team 12 to 8. Football.—l 9to 8. On Wednesday the Te Puke primary basketball football teams visited -Tauranga. In both basketball games, T© Puke proved superior, the sores being Te Puke A. .11, Tauranga A. 5. ‘ Te Puke B. 7. Tauranga B. 2. As a result of the better combination of ' the Tauranga football team, Te Puke was defeated by 14 points to 5.
