APPOINTMENT OF LEADER NO DECISION YET REACHED Rugby, Aug. 15 After sittings lasting seven hours in; all, in connection with the election of the new General, in place of Evangeline Booth, the meeting of the High Council of the Salvation Army at Clapton adjourned till tomorrow. - To-day’s deliberations were concerned chiefly with matters of procedure and the appointment of committees. An official communiq'ue stated: “The business was dealt with in the true spirit of harmony and goodwill.” Strict precautions have been taken to ensure complete secrecy while the ballot is in progress. Not until one nominee has received a two-thirds majority can the council complete its task. - The last election, that of General Evangeline Booth, lasted over six days.
