WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
GATE PA The August meeting of the GaTe Pa Women’s Institute was an open one, and there was a large attendance of members and visitors. A pleasant afternoon was spent with games and competitions. Some of the members presented the song and tableau which they did at the recent group meeting, and Mrs Baker and Mrs Brightwell gave a very amusing play reading. A stall laden with produce and sewing was well patronised. The competition for the afternoon -—a two pound jam jar of flowers arranged for effect —was won by Mrs King with Mrs Grant second. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Plummer, Pattie, and Robinson.
