Mrs C. W. Boak has ( left- by the Maetsuycker on a trip lio the East. The ship sails from Auckland for Wellington this afternoon. Mrs Layton, of New Plymouth, is staying with her mother, Mrs Renshaw, of Devonport Road. The death has occurred of Dr. Sinclair Gillies, aged 70, one of Sydney’s oldest and best-known physicians. He was a son of the late Mr Justice Gillies, of Auckland, Visitors at the Masonic Hotel include Messrs Brookes, Forsdick, Gembleski and Trewby. Visitors at the Star Hotel include Messrs Meredith, Shalfoon, Monteith, chapman, Obren and Merrick. Guests at the Tauranga Hotel include Messrs Hampton, Brinkman, Johnson, Hookway, McNicol, McKinnon, Cadness, Clare, Parker and Auld. Guests at the Commei'cial Hotel include Mr and Mrs Usherwood, Mr and'Mrs McGill (Auckland), Dr Taylor, Messrs Rowe, Morrow, Corry, Phillips and Barton.
