Here Comes the Bride In Crinoline and Clouds of Pink

The June bride in Paris has forsaken the conventional white for soft, pale pink. One of the loveliest of the season’s May weddings was an azalea wedding, the bride in a crinoline gown of bluish pink organza with a little crown of azaleas holding .the pink tulle veil, the bridesmaids m bouffant frocks of azalea pink, carrying bouquets' of the flower, and the altar banked with azaleas and dark green leaves.

This year’s bride may be as romantic and picturesque as the most sentimental can desire. She may choose from several period gowns the one which appeals to her fancy. She may sweep up the aisle in billowing skirts of the crinoline period, gliding along In a slim, Empress Josephine satin, in a bustle frock of the Edwardian era, or in a princess gown of the “Little Women” type. Organza, moire, tulle, lace, 'and chiffon are season’s favourites.

Balenciaga, our Spanish couturier, who in a brief two years has achieved the front, ranks of the Parisian designers, is showing a daguerreotype wedding gown of fine white pique, but in princess fashion, with plain buttoned bodice, with little turnover collar and a very full skirt with wide bands of the material. A' tiny pork-pie turban in pique with a crown of orange blossoms holds the short tulle veil. ‘All extremely youthful and smart for a country wedding!

Wedding veils this season are arranged in all sorts of interesting, effects to suit the type of costume and with an eye to its becomingness. A recent bride, in full crinoline frock of pale peach-coloured moire, wore her veil attached tp a huge bow of the silk, perched on the top of her head. Another, in pale pink tulle, t had her veil hanging from a ribbon band which encircled the curls, low down at the back of her head.
