Tnapiro Bridge Damaged. As the result of the heavy rain on Tuesday night the Hood waters scoured the main supports of each abutment of the Tuapiro Bridge, on the Main Highway between Katikati and Atheuree, rendering the bridge unfit for carrying traffic. The Public Works Department have barri- f caded the approaches and are arranging for the driving of piles, for which the Tanranga Harbour Board’s plant will be used. It is hoped to have repairs completed by Wednesday next, but meanitme all traffic is using the Kaimai route. Centennial Celebrations. In order to assist the Makelu natives to raise funds to fittingly assist in Maketu's part in the Centenary Celebrations, the Hon Mr Parry has approved-of Mr Burnett’s recommendation for a permit to hold an Art Union to raise funds for the purpose. Stolen Car Recovered. A Chevrolet car, which was parked , outside the Te Puke Hotel, was j stolen on Monday afternoon.
