THOMPSON’S TRACK
MAKING A START Writing the Piako County Council, the Public Works Department stated that before any start could be made with the work of re-open-ing Thompson’s Track, the County allocation would have to be paid into the Public Account. In the meantime preliminary investigations were being carried out. llie Clerk slated that he had obtained authority to pay the County share and anticipated that by now there would lie no obstacle to having the work carired out. Cr Burgess stated that he understood trom a person who had recently crossed the range that the state of the track on the other side was lairly bad. Ho suggested that (be Tauranga County might apply to the Department for similar work of reopening to be carried out on the eastern side.
The suggestion wa s agreed to and Die Clerk instructed to despatch a letter the position.
