WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

APATA The April meeting of the Apata Women's Institute was held at Mrs Mounticr's home and was well attended. The President read an account of the late Mrs Bibby’s life, after which the members stood for a minute in silence. The youngest member then read a few lines about Miss Jerome Spencer, stressing the wonderful help she has been and is to the New Zealand Institutes. Business was dealt with and entries arranged for the Council meeting . A general knowledge paper caused much amusement, and the bloom and lady’s spray competitions brought good entries. A pleasant afternoon was brought to a close with afternoon tea.
