SOCIAL AND DANCE
PLEASANT EVENING AT WAITAO. The Wailao Hall presented an animated scene on Tuesday evening, when the social committee of the “Waitao War Veterans’ League” held another enjoyable old-time and modern dance in aid of the Memorial Funds. The Rhythm Birds Band, under the capable leadership of Mr D. Nathan, rendered a delightful programme of dance music. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Collett and Mr B. Martin. An excellent supper was served. A raffle, an afternoon tea sot, was won by Miss Winchester.

Pemberton, R. Policy, L. Hardy and Misses N .Stewart, P. Klink, V. Pemberton, R. Lloyd, J. Dobson, M. Hardy, Collett (2), Winchester, Dulan, Cook, Burgoyne (Auckland), L. Walker, M. Jobe, J. Cosgrove, M. Mulgrew, M. Harris, Mallion, D. Werohia, Garrett (2), Ngamare, Ngatai, M. Nathan, Ratana, J. Ohia, W. Friday, B. lhaka. Songs were rendered by Miss A. Stewart and Mr R. Rameka; a duet by Miss Nathan and Miss lhaka; a huia dance by Miss Ratana of Te Puke, and tap dances by Mr I. Williams and Mr M. Rameka.
