OBITUARY

MR HERBERT CHARLES WILLCOCK It is with great regret that chronicle the death of Mr Herbert Charles Willcock, which occurred yesterday afternoon at the age of seventy-six years. The late Mr Willcock was horn in Bideford, Devonshire, and was educated i B that town. He was married in igjj and in IS9O he left for South Africa and settled in East London, Cape Province, where he was first in business and later went in tor farming in the Komgha district, about thirty, five miles from East Loudon. Mrs Willcock died in East London l B 19 01. Mr Willcock disposed of his South African interests and returned to England in 1910. where he was engaged in volunteer war work for about two years. In November, 1917, he married Miss E. W. Davie and resided for several years iu various parts of the South of England. Since then he had made tour trips to his sons and daughter residing in South Africa and New Zealand, and two and a-half years ago he came on a visit to his son, Mr S. ti. Will-

cock, and acquired properties in Tauranga and at Gale Pa. He enjoyed good health until about six months ago, and the end came as the result of heart trouble. Mr Will-

cock is survived by his second wife, who resides at Bournemouth, England; one daughter, Mrs W. E. Tapson, of Rusape, Southern Rhodesia; and three sons, Messrs John and Arthur Willcock, of Cape Province, South Africa, and Mr S. G. Willcock, of Tauranga.

The funeral will take place at 3.30 this afternoon from the Church of England. MRS CATHERINE MOLONEY. A very popular resident of the Omokoroa district, Mrs Catherine Moloney, died on Wednesday last, in her fifty-first year. The late Mrs Moloney was born in County Cork, Ireland, and during the war was oa the nursing staff of the Duke of Rutland’s Hospital in Arlington Street, London. Mrs Moloney came out to New Zealand three years ago and had since resided with her only sou, Mr F. G. (“Pat”) Moloney, at Omokoroa, where she made many friends. Other relatives in New Zealand are a sister, Mrs N. M. Wil son, of Wellington, and a brother, Mr C. P. McNally, of Auckland. The sympathy of numerous friends will be extended to Mr “Pat” Moloney and other relatives in their bereavement. A Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church this morning, and the funeral takes place this afternoon.
