TAURANGA REGATTA
OCEAN YACHT RACE. - There was a . good attendance at the meeting of the General Committee of the Tauranga Regatta Club, held in Mr Harrison’s Tea Rooms on Friday evening. Mr H. B. Olding presided. . It was decided that the Colin Norris Memorial Gold Cup ocean yacht race from Auckland to Tauranga be held. .The, race will be controlled by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, and details of the prize .money will be finalised at the next meeting of the General Committee.' Arangements are in progress for the framing of the programme for the rowing and other events and it is hoped to announce details of these events in the near future. ‘ The question of including Maori events is now receiving the attention of a committee of natives from the local tribes, and it is hoped to stage a programme of hakas; pois ■ and singing.
