ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
TRANSPORT DRIVER’S REPORT. At a meeting of the General Committee* of the Tauranga Branch of the St. John Ambulance Association held on Friday last, the driver’s monthly report for September and October was read by Mr S. N. Smith,; Acting Transport Driver. As a matter of interest to the general public showing details of valuable work carried out in this district by the St. John Ambulance Association, the following items are extracted; "During the month of September there were v.ery few cases of either accidents or sickness. The Ambulance was in use during this month on seven occasions, and "covered a total mileage of 74 miles. One trip during September was to the scene of a motor-cycle accident, the patient suffering from a compound, fracture of the right leg. “During • October nine trips ‘were taken by the Ambulance, and the total mileage was 303 miles. Most of tfyese trips were long ones, and on' one occasion the Ambulance was called to the Mount at 1 a.m. Assistants taken on the Ambulance, on this particular trip were Ambulance students, and .this fact serves to emphasise the value of Ambulance classes and Divisions, to the well her ing of the local and surrounding districts.”
