SILVER WEDDING

MR AND SIRS A. P. WOOD OF OHAUiTI. ' The silver wedding anniversary of Mr ana Mrs A; P. Wood, which fell on July 22nd, was celebrated in fitting and happy manner when a large Surprise Party visited their home at Ohaulti on the Monday evening following. About thirty friends were present and the elder folk spent the evening playing cards, while the younger set indulged in dancing and games. The ladies present were responsible for a dainty supper, the main feature of which was the cutting of the beautiful three-tier cake.

After supper, Mr P. T. Ream, on behalf of the visitors, conveyed congratulations to Mr and Mrs Wood, and wished them all happiness in the future. Mr Wood suitably replied.

The evening was brought to a close after midnight with the singing of “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows’* and "Auld Lang Syne.”
