ST. MARY'S CHURCH
SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL EVENING. The St. Mary’s Catholic Social Club held a very happy and successful social evening at the Rivoli supper room last night, the first one to be held under the regime of Father Ecclestoh. Games and dances were indulged in, musical chairs causing much merriment. Two elocutionary items were given by Mr McGlone and also much enjoyed. Miss R. Cassin,- piano; Mrs M. Mann, violin; Mr V. Cassin, banjo, Mr Gustofson, banjo-mandolin, Mr L. Milano, drums; formed a capital orchestra, all being members-of the Club. Extras were played by Mr L. Spurdle and Mr P. Minifle. The Ping Pong and Bridge tables were not neglected. A number of parishioners from Te Puke Parish also attended the evening, and this is to be the forerunner of many such social gatherings. Amongst those present were:Mesdames V. Martin in brown silk lace, J. Ward in brown floral georgette, P. McKenna in pink and brown georgette,. G. E. Faulkner in black silk, J. McGlone in blue figured georgette. H. Gilmore - Rodgers in navy, velvet, M, Mann in airforce blue angel skin e—rmble. Broad in brown ensemble, Moioney (Te Puna) in brown and beige lace, L. Milano in pink marocain; Misses M. Nugent in black crepe de chene, J. Broad in pink angel skin, D. Wills in blue ensemble, Grace Collins (Engand) in black lace, M.'Garvey in black velvet, Rene Thompson • (Rotorua) in apple green windswept satin, D. Moors (Auckland) in tartan tunic, J. Bussey (Auckland) in black georgette, M. Hogan in green swiss model, Marie McMasters in figured crepe, Eunice Saippson in scarlet crepe de chene, M.:Jones in floral marocain; J. Ferguson in blue voile, I, Cooney (To Puke) in green crinkle crepe, 6. Cooney (Te Puke) In blue crepe, Margaret McKenna in black tulle, M. Donovan (Te Puke) in lettuce green marocain, G. Ryan (Te Puke) in blue lace, R. Cassin in pink organdie.
