FARMERS’ UNION.
MEETING OF WOMEN’S DIVISION.
At the monthly meeting: of, the local Women’s Division of the JM. Farmers’ Union, held in the Presbyterian Hall on the 2nd Inst., Mrs Christian presided over a good attendance of members. Several cases of distress were reported and dealt with. The Executive impressed on all members present on the necessity of reporting all cases of distress la their neighbourhood, so that where possible immediate relief could be given. It was decided to hold! a five hundred and social evening in the Halrlni Hall on Friday next, the 9th Inst. A delightful talk on gardening thoughts was contributed, and a song by Mrs Christian much appreciated. Mrs Pilbrow gave a demonstration on moccasin slipper making, the members being keenly interested. After lunch a competition was held, Mrs C. Gane proving the winner.
