TE PUKE NOTES.

GOLF CLUB OPENING DAY. The official opening day of the Te Puke Golf Club was held on Saturday afternoon on the Club's Hub at Papamoa, in the presence of i large attendance of members. Ur H. George, President of the Clab,Htended a welcome to all present, anil said that the Club was very fortunate in having Its course on aich beautifully situated land. Mr Georg? referred to the generous and valuable assistance which the Club bd received from Mr James Dickson, who is Patron of the Club, and owner ol the land on which the links are situated. Besides granting the CM the use of the land, Mr Dickson hf always given the Club the utinis practical assistance and the hensSt of his expert knowledge of the land, and had often in the past season sacrificed his own interests to keep He grass as low as possible for He benefit of the Club. On behalf of He Club, Mr George then presented Sr Dickson with a travelling rug a t tangible expression of the Club's appreciation of Mr Dickson's generosity. The speaker also thanked those members of the Club who had worked so hard to bring the links Into good order for the opening qf the seasos, and he specially thanked the CM Secretary, Mr E. Hargreaves, and h R. Gibbings, who had furnished He tee boxes which would be greatly appreciated by players.
