LAUNCH ARANUI
PARTY'S ENJOYABLE CRUISE.
A second pigeon message from the launch Aranui, was received by Mr Harold Stevens yesterday and stated that the launch left Whangamata at 7 a.m. on Sunday and was at Slipper Island for breakfast at 8.30. Left at 10 a.m. for Castle Rock.; There were shoals and shoals.of kahawal and cseveral were caught for bait. Three hapuku and several schnapper were landed. After lunch, the Aranui proceeded to Mercury Island, arriving there at 4.15 p.m. The yacht Ngahau arrived at the island just after the Aranui. The weather was clear and fine —no sea and no wind. At 7.15 a.m. yesterday the party left Mercury Island for Great Barrier, via Cuvier.
