TRADE WITH CHINA.
GOOD PROSPECTS. ; Messrs Harry Foy and A. Kwang, Chinese merchants, who recently arrived in Sydney from China, reported that China was anxious to trade with Australia on a large scale. Mr Foy Is manager of Simpson Lee and Co., Hong Kong, and an ex-president of the Sydney Chinese Chamber of 'Commerce. Mr A. Kwang is general manager of Alexander James and ’Co., importers, of Hong Kong. It is his first visit to Australia. Mr Foy and Mr Kwang are negotiating ■ for the amalagamatidn of their companies to facilitate an exchange of -.trade between Australia and China. They said that China provided an „ excellent market for many of Australia’s products, particularly flour*, -butter, wheat, leather, fruits (dried .and tinned), tallows, and railway sleepers. In fact, they personally 'were ready to place orders running unto thousands of pounds in Australia immediately if satisfactory terms could he arranged for price and delivery.
