Hislop:— •'A deputation of Power Boards has*waited upon the Minister of public Works urging that the activities of the various municipalities applying power in New Zealand should be s taken over by the various notrer boards. The matter is of Vital importance to municipalities applying power, ami after consultation with some of the bodies concerned, particularly with the Mayor of Palmerston North, I think it advisable, that the views of the munci-p-ilities supplying potver should be placed before the Minister without delay. “I have accordingly arranged for s deputation to the Minister of Public Works for 12 noon on Thursday, ?7th. instant, and I should he glad If you. accompanied by one of your technical officers, can arrange to be present' at the deputation, and also jt a preliminary conference to be held in my room at 10 o’clock on the Corning of the same day, namely, Thursday. 27th. hist. ■“This is not a matter tvhich can 1 je dealt with by the Municipal Association, because the \Mews of the todies forming that Association are jot evident and some of the bodies s re not concerned as suppliers of power. “I accordingly undertook at the request of the Mayor of Palmerston North and some others to call this conference in Wellington and to arrange for the above deputation.
