FUTURE TRANSPORT

SPECIAL MOTOR-LORRY ROADS IN ITALY. Special new motor-lorry roads, designed for vehicles carrying loads of several tons, are to be built in Italy, states a B.U.P. Rome message. Italian transport officials are convinced that the future of heavy transport lies with the roads rather than the railways. The first of these special roads, which were suggested by Signor Mussolini, will be begun next October, and will run from Genoa through Turin and Milan, allowing for rapid transport from the docks at Genoa to the factories of Lombardy, Piedmont, and Emilia.
