STOCK VALUES.
MATAMATA SALE. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Company, Limited, held their usual fortnightly stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday. There was an extra heavy yarding of fat and store pigs, with a hig proportion of light porkers. Values were lirm throughout and on a par with Frankton rates. A total of 700 pigs was yarded. A heavy yarding of sheep and a medium yarding of cattle came forward. Sheep were not in keen demand and prices in many cases did not reach the owners’ reserves. Ruling rates were maintained on cattle. Prices:
Cattle.—Fat bullocks, £5 ss, fat cows, £1 15s to £2 ss; killable cov.s, £1 5s to £1 15s; fresh store cows, ISs to £1 4s; boners, 7s 6d to 30s; potter bulls, heavy, £2 10s to £3 10s; potter bulls, light, £1 2s 6d to £2 ss; choice heifer calves, £2 ss. Pigs.— Heavy choppers, 34s to 3Ss; lighter choppers, 20s to 30s; heavy baconers, 38s to £2; medium baconers. 32s to 375; light baconers, 29s to 31s; heavy porkers, 25s to 28s; medium porkers, 21s to 255, light porkers, 16s to 20s; stores, 9s to 12s; slips, 6s to 9s 6d; weaners, 3s 6d to 6s; Berkshire boars, 2gns. to 2Jfgns. Sheep.—Fat Jambs, 12s 6d; fat wethers, 13s 3d; forward-conditioned lambs, 6s 6d to 7s 3d: fat ewes, 6s 7d; store ewes, Is to 4s; s.m. ewes, 5s to 8s; two-tooth ewes, small, Bs, store lambs, 5s to 6s 6d.
