TRADE IN THE EAST.
A GOOD SUGGESTION. Mr G. F. Moore, of Bushy Park, writing in The Dominion of Monday last says: “Is it not time our Government took steps to open up the vast markets awaiting our produce in China, Japan, and Java? We are urged to increase production, yet no attempt is made to extend our markets. When it is too late I suppose a move in this direction will be made. In the East I understand the people during cold weather put one cotton garment on lop of another. If representatives were sent from New Zealand it should not be hard to convince them that wool cou|d be used to advantage, especially when prices are low, as at present.
