BONER COWS.
SENT FROM WAIKATO TO WANGANUI. A.herd of about 300 boner cows recently arrived at Wanganui for the Imlay freezing works from the Hamilton district. They came via the Parapara road in charge of two drovers, and were over five weeks on the road. It is interesting to note that had they come by rail the railage would have amounted to about £240, whereas the cost of droving would be about £9O. It is understood that the original cost of the cows was 7s to 14s each.
