MEETING AT WHAKATANE. *
Whakataue, April 22 r,. The New Zealand Championship 120yds sprint was inaugurated at the Bay of Plenty Athletic sports meeting yesterday. There were seven aspirants for the honour. After keen contest J. H. Maloney, of Paeroa, gained first place, with J: Pen- . nlngton, of Rotorua, and D. Molesworth, of Wairoa, second and third respectively. Time 12 l/ssec.
