Bennett for the purpose of considering the erection of a public hall was held in the Papamoa schoolroom on Monday night. After discussion it was decided to take steps to build a hall, and a committee was appointed to go into the question of site and various other details, and report at a further meeting to be held .at an early date. Messrs W. R. Boon and C. W. Loane have been appointed the Whakatane Rugby Union’s delegates to the Bay of Plenty Union. The following committee was elected at the annual meeting of householders of the Te Puke school district Rev. Wamock, Messrs W. O. Knight, J. Courtenay, F. T. Danvers, G. Sweetman, T. Tanner, A. Barrow, A. Ryburn and F. Palmer. The sum of £3O was forwarded from Te Puke to the Obstetrical Endowment Fund.
