AMUSEMENTS.

THE REGENT. “Noah’s Ark,” the greatest Bibli- , cal picture since “The Ten Command, I mcnts,” was screened before a big I audience at the Regent last night. Patrons were spell-bound' and were loud in their praise at the magnitude of this wonderful masterpiece. In this production you can see and hear the mighty building of the enormous Tower of Babel, the great deluge that floods the world, the building of the At;k, the mighty grinding wheel which was driven by human slaves, and the sacrificing of Miriam, the hand-maiden of Noah. \ou will also hear the golden voice of Dolores Costello, the Madonna of the film world, in the most powerful story »ct brought to the screen. Through the staggering- spectacle of dark, rushing waters, through the tumult of war, run the golden melodies of “Heart of Mine” and “Old Timer.” Both M[iss, Costello and George O’Brien give a finished display of their acting capabilities. Some wonderful scenes of the ‘“‘Great Flood” are vividly filmed, and are a personal triumph for the camerman. This stupendous production will be screened finally to-night. Reserve your seat by ringing ’phone aS(T after 6 p.m. OPERA HOUSE. A specially selected double star programme should provide excellent entertainment at the Opera House to-night, and agpin on Saturday. It is reported that “The Main Event,” the first attraction, packed.the world’s largest picuie house, the famous Roxy Theatre, New York at every screening. Said to be the greatest ring-side story ever filmed, “Main Event” is treated in a novel way and is lavishly produced. Petite Vera Reynolds, da Millqf star, heads a brilliant'cast in the role of a cabaret dancer who is in love with one pugilist and agrees to “frame” the other, only to discover—almost too late—that her love has changed gloves. After highly dramatic developments she is forced to make a fateful choice. Charles. Delaney (“Skyscraper”’ fame) as Johnnie Regan, is a player of charm and talent, while Robert Armstrong, as “Red” Lucas is as rascally a ring champion as any Jover of screen villians may wish for. Rudolph Schildkraut, a main actor in “King of Kings.” is excellent as father and manager of Regan, the bright youngster, who the dan:er seeks to double-cross, but later learns to love. The second attraction. “Ned McCobb’s Daughter,” starring Irene Rich is a virile swift moving drama of an unhappily married'woman with a code of honour all her own. Her husband steals £4OO from a transportation company, and to save him from arrest, she obtains /".ioo from a bootlegger who makes her home the base of his illicit operations and thi- leads tin fo a >“ries of verv thrilling events.
