AUCKLAND TRAINING WORK.' (Special to Times.) Auckland, April 17 Rain fell over night and there were several showers till work ro- ■ commenced after the breakfast interval at Ellerslie this morning, when the weather cleared and remained fine till the completion of training work. The outside course proper, with the poles 40ft out was in use, but the going was not affected by the rain, the track remaining hard and fast. There were several interesting - gallops, the best performances being registered by Silvermlne, Gold Money, Hunting Day and Toxeuma,- . while among the two-year-olds Lady Pam, Appledore, Green Linnet and Karangapai pleased most. Course Proper. ' Eager Rose and Kawainga were. first out, running home from the six furlongs post in 1,19 1/5. Both worked well, but Eager Rose was doing it better. Ceremony ran five furlongs, moving very freely. King Emerald and Ruling King got to the end of five furlongs in 1.6 4/5. There was, little between them. Neil and Tambourine were sent oyer a mile. They ran the first half in 58s and the full distance in 1.57. Veriigeru was allotted a similar task. He covered the first half mile in 53 4/5, and the full distance in 1,49, doing it well. Full Measure was a shade oettcr than Great Emblem, while running four furlongs in 52 3/5. Lady Court* accomplished a similar task in the same time. . Count Palatine and Duellona were companions over a mile in 1.47 1/5. Odin was given a round in 2,3 1/6. The two Easter Handicap candidates, Silvermlne and Bright Glow, jumped off at the seven furlong post and finished up in* 1.31 1/5. Silver- ■ mine, working well, was in front at - the finish. Over a similar distance Hannibal ’ „ finished in fronf of Pedestal in 1.33. Gold Money sprinted five furlongs in 1.3 4/5, going nicely. Respirator and Brampton ran sis _ furlongs in 1.21 1/5. Richfield was going nicely beside , Green Linnet at the end of six furlongs in 1,19 1/5. Richfield was on the outside and pleased. The two year olds, ’ Green Timber and Grant Spirit, completed five fu—longs in 1.5 1/5, the former doing better. When Corinax and Gemligbt went out to work a slight fog enveloped the back of the course and they wore timed to rim the last six furlongs la 1.21. They finished on terms. Lady Pam and Appledore were responsible for a smart sprint over five furlongs in 1.3 4/5. The best mile effort of the morning was registered by Cynthia N., who beat Paitonu comfortably in - 1.45 4/5. Good Idea, Manawhenua, and Thunderstorm -were in that order at ’• the end of five fuxdongs, run in 1.7. Volimond beat Honiton over a similar distance in 1.5. ■ After Breakfast. Hunting Day ridden by Wlggtus,who will pilot him in the Easter Handicap, jumped off at the six forlongs post, running the first two furlongs in 25 2/5, three In 37 3/5, and the full distance in 1.17 2/5. This was the best effort of the morning over six furlongs. My Own was given strong work over a mile and a-quarter. Cylinder and Arisus ran six f jr-. longs in 1.21 1/5, Cylinder dobis slightly better. ' Love Song and Jenny Diver were’ ■ sent over five furlongs in 1.4 1/5The former was doing better over the early part, but Jenny Diver was up Level at the finish.
