UNION COMPANY STEAMER DRIVEN ASHORE CREW LAND SAFELY. Gisborne, Oct-. 24. A heavy southerly gale sprang--lup during the night, and the Union Company’s steamer Kahikari, from southern ports was driven ashore on the Waikanae beach about 5 a. m. The crew landed safely.
