DEFICIT ON YEAR’S OPERATIONS. Sydney, Sept. 2 Ihe annual report of the Railway Commissioners of New South Wales reveals a deficit of £1,099,000 on the past year’s operations. The tramways showed a loss of £9:m:j compared with a profit of £27,000 in the previous year. The decrease in tramway passengers totalled 12,560,000. The commissioners attribute the deficit largely to drought and industrial troubles. |
