TOWN HALL. “The Warning,” which will he the chief attraction at the Town Hall this evening, relates the adventures of a girl detective in the underground opium dens along the Hong Kong waterfront. The plot affords an exceptionally fine role for Jack Holt, who is given opportunity to use his -fists and stage some thrilling rescues. Dorothy lievier is well cast as the girl detective. Frank Lackteen, Pat Harmon, Eugene Strong, George Kuwa and Norman Trevor complete the exceptionally fine cast. On Wednesday and Thursday next “The Shepherd of the Hills” will be screened. This beautiful play brings the strange, primitive people of the Ozark Mountains of a generation ago to life on the screen, with a thoroughness never approached by fiction. This is the screen version of Harold Bell Wright’s most famous novel. Alec B. Francis plays the title role in “The Shepherd of the Hills.” Other principal characters who step from the pages of the great! author’s Ozark novel to the silversheet are portrayed by Molly O’Day, John Boles, Matthew Betz, Romaine Fielding, Otis Harlan, Joseph Bennett, Maurice Murphy, Marion Douglas and John Westwood.

On Saturday next, the outstanding comedy drama ‘.‘Rook ies,” will be the special attraction, and is a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer picture. Karl Dane and Geo. K. Arthur are starred, and are, without doubt, one of the funniest comedy teams of the screen. The story is based on life in a training camp. Mareeline Day provides the female interest, in the role of the little sundae shopkeeper, whom all the boys adore. The box plans are now open at Stevens Bros., the Strand.
